Areas of Practice

The firm practices general civil and business litigation with an emphasis on civil rights claims and employment law. Mr. Cohn specializes in discrimination and harassment in the workplace, sexual harassment, age and gender discrimination, disability and/or medical condition and leave discrimination, retaliation, whistle blowing, unlawful business practices and wrongful termination.

Mr. Cohn represents individuals and management in both State and Federal courts, before the Public Employees Review Board, County of Santa Clara Personnel Board, Civil Service Commission, the California Labor Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, and other administrative agencies.

Mr. Cohn additionally practices in the areas of the Uniform Trade Secrets Act, non-competition issues, unfair competition and union collective bargaining agreements.

Mr. Cohn has successfully concluded thousands of claims through negotiation, arbitration, mediation and trial. He remains an active member of various Bar Association groups and has presented Human Resources seminars and continuing legal education courses on employment-related topics.
